"With plenty of college cred, this Vietnamese fast-casual spot that gained a loyal following in the U District during its two years of operation recently opened a South Lake Union outpost in the Amazon Nessie complex on 9th Avenue North. It serves banh mi, rice bowls, and fan favorites such as the signature grilled lemongrass pork, and the SLU menu adds a Vietnamese corn dish flavored with garlic and butter, vermicelli bowls, and house-made pork cracklings. Everything is served cafeteria-style so customers can customize their bread and bowl toppings, and owner Paul Nguyen — who launched Sizzle & Crunch not long after graduating from the University of Washington — says he may expand downtown or to Capitol Hill depending on how the SLU location performs." - Gabe Guarente
