"This major resort company has agreed with the Culinary and Bartenders unions to a package of COVID-19 protections for its union members, including continued no-premium, full-family health care coverage through the Culinary Health Fund for furloughed employees through March 1, 2021; recall rights for laid-off workers for up to two years with retention of job and seniority; flexibility to work in different positions when staffing shortages occur; 10 paid quarantine days when isolation is ordered by health authorities or the employer; protection from attendance points or discipline for COVID-related absences; up to six weeks of unpaid leave upon request; and requirements for manager training on handling positive tests. The accord was described by union officials as a historic step to keep workers and families protected while the economy recovers." - Susan Stapleton
