"I'm intrigued that Chip City (formerly Chip NYC) is opening its first Boston store this spring at 316 Newbury Street in Back Bay. The chain anchors its menu with a couple of core flavors—chocolate peanut butter and chocolate chip—but it's really known for its wackier, line-inducing weekly flavors like hot honey cornbread and the “crumbdiddlyumptious,” a sugar cookie mixed with ground coffee and coated in a brown sugar glaze and cinnamon-spiced cake crumbs. This Back Bay location is the first of three Boston-area stores planned, with additional spots slated for Arsenal Yards and the West End later this year; an exact opening date for the Back Bay shop has not yet been set. Chip City started in Astoria, Queens in 2017, has expanded around New York City and New Jersey to 17 stores, and recently received a $10 million backing from Danny Meyer to fuel further growth." - Erika Adams
