"After a 66-year run that ended in 2016, the venue that first opened in 1950 by Al Nye and changed little over the ensuing years was known as Nye’s Polonaise Room; it was purchased in 1999 by Ron and Tony Jacob, who continued to run the business much the same until the decision was made to raze the aging building and replace most of the space with apartments. When it became obvious how beloved the institution was, the owners decided to add back at least a part of Nye’s to the current construction." - Cinnamon Janzer
