"Known for its famed banh mi sandwiches and very low grocery prices, Duc Loi at 2200 Mission Street was closed yesterday by the city’s Department of Public Health for “major violations” that, according to SFGate, related to a rodent infestation. The popular business has a documented history of health code problems—past entries on HDScores included “high risk vermin infestation” and “contaminated or adulterated food” in March 2018—and current violations were listed as “food contamination, unsanitary conditions and recurring violations,” per SFGate. Their phones were ringing without answer today, and Eater SF has reached out to the Department of Public Health for further information and comment." - Caleb Pershan
