"This burger chain first rolled out the Impossible Whopper nationwide in 2019 and, after a past controversy in which a New York location mistakenly served beef instead of the vegetarian option, became the first major fast-food chain to introduce Impossible Foods’ meatless nuggets; the nuggets launched in limited markets starting Oct. 11 (Des Moines, Boston and Miami) and were not yet nationwide. Critics have said the Impossible nugget “sort of taste[s] like chicken” with no aftertaste and is “nearly indistinguishable” from the shaped-and-fried nuggets already sold by many fast-food manufacturers.
