New Cafe Gathering Coffee Co. Is Opening in Detroit’s North End - Eater Detroit
"Gathering Coffee Co. is a new cafe planned to open in Detroit’s North End neighborhood, aiming for a mid-to-late summer opening. Founded by Emily Steffen, former director of coffee and education at Populace Coffee, the cafe will be integrated with Eightfold Collective, which will feature a community darkroom for film developing. The 2,500-square-foot space will preserve its industrial look with brick and white walls, communal tables, bar seating, and a mural by Detroit artist Gisela McDaniel. It is envisioned as a community hub for workshops, events, and dinners, offering coffee, tea, pastries, and a pay-what-you-can menu. Gathering Coffee Co. will use Populace Coffee and housemade syrups for its drinks and plans to source pastries from the forthcoming Poppies in West Village." - Brenna Houck
