"Brooks and Bradley Anderson, the duo of brothers behind Dallas restaurants Boulevardier and Rapscallion, will open a new eatery in Lakewood. Named Hillside Tavern, the new restaurant is part of a redevelopment of the Hillside Village shopping center at the corner of Abrams and Mockingbird. Filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commision for the restaurant indicate that Rapscallion chef Nathan Tate is a partner in the project with the Anderson brothers, but no details on what the menu will look like have been made available just yet. In all likelihood, Hillside Tavern will offer the same neighborhood vibe that’s been cultivated at Boulevardier and Rapscallion, both stalwarts of the Eater 38. At Hillside Village, the restaurant will join Manny’s Lakewood Tex-Mex, White Rock Coffee, and Olivella’s Neo Pizza Napoletana. A projected opening date for Hillside Tavern has not been announced, but renovations on the Hillside Village shopping center are expected to be finished by the end of 2018. Stay tuned for more details on this forthcoming spot." - Amy McCarthy
