"I found that Tiny Diner, located at 807 East Fourth Street, will open Wednesday, September 7 as a casual counter-service Japanese comfort food restaurant serving okonomiyaki and egg sandwiches (thick slices of white bread with egg salad filling) on a daytime menu. Behind the project is chef Domonic Candy, who says he loves Japanese food's appreciation for craftsmanship and hopes his food shows that; Candy — who worked at Odd Duck, Daruma Ramen, Micklethwait Craft Meats, Dee Dee, Otoko and was most recently sous chef at Olamaie — will operate the kitchen in Native’s café, sharing the space with coffee shop Idlewild. In the evenings he plans to give the space over to local chefs for pop-ups so he can cook with friends and family and host up-and-coming chefs and cooks in town." - Nadia Chaudhury
