"This beloved soda fountain restaurant is bound to have decades of local lore, given that it opened in 1933. Wood booths, longtime bartenders, sports games on sporadic TVs, and a huge bar where solo dining is in style make up the place. As for food, there’s no shortage of toasted sandwiches, like the grilled salmon, the club, or the stuffed Reuben. Simple, carby dishes here like the quesadillas or the patty melt are filling options, although there’s a fair share of salads and veggie bowls. This neighborhood joint has made it through a lot, namely a casual nine decades and hoards of newcomers and competitors. Although, it’s hard to compete with Sundries because it’s in its own one-of-a-kind world.
