"Serving as the landlord in this dispute, Bethany Community Church posted on Facebook that social-media statements about the church were not true, saying it did not own the building, that it had forgiven $53,000 in missed rent and utility payments, and that although it had a legal right to evict in November 2022 it allowed the tenant to stay and waived restitution — adding that the lease was ending in July when the tenant would have to vacate. The church’s account contrasts with reporting that it has sued Black Coffee NW for over $22,000 in unpaid rent and that the landlord issued a notice to vacate in November." - Harry Cheadle
