"Opened this week at 33A Highland Park Village, Julian Barsotti’s new restaurant Fachini brings retro Italian-American vibes to an expensive plot next to the theatre that overlooks the shopping center and its parade of designer boutiques and Mercedes. As diners enter, they walk up a flight of stairs to a softly lit entryway covered in dark blue wallpaper; bright tiling, casual patterns, and plentiful natural light give the space a vintage Italian feel. The restaurant is split into two lobes—one cozy drinking area with only a few seats at the wood bar and some window tables, and a spacious, moodily lit dining room that keeps frills to a minimum with white tablecloths, patio-style chairs, caramel leather booths, and hints of orange, blue, and exposed brick. The cuisine is equally decadent: all pastas are handmade, including a 100-layer lasagna (the dish actually has slightly more than 100 layers — we counted), and an extensive Italian wine list positions it as a date-night destination. Fachini is currently open for dinner only: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends." - Eater
