"A new, also-Peruvian spot from chef Oscar Lorenzzi (born in Lima) debuts in the West Village on Tuesday, August 26, at 154 West 13th Street near Seventh Avenue. Lorenzzi, formerly the co-owner and executive chef of East Harlem’s Contento, teams up with hospitality partner Jonathan Charnay (formerly beverage director of omakase Masa), who will oversee a wine program that leans South American. The menu centers on Peruvian dishes, including familiar favorites from Contento like the quinotto (quinoa risotto), plus ceviches, arroz con pato (rice with duck), black chimichurri octopus, lamb ribs with anticucho, and Chifa (Chinese Peruvian) items. They’ve taken over the space that previously housed Harold Dieterle’s short-lived Il Totano, which closed in January." - Nadia Chaudhury
