"I learned that Ottawa bakery Kettleman’s — started by Montrealer Craig Buckley on Bank Street in 1993 — has locked in a downtown Montreal spot on the corner of de la Montagne and Canadiens‑de‑Montréal, right by the Bell Centre, and will produce bagels on-site. They make hand-rolled bagels baked in a wood-fired oven and plan to offer a grab-and-go approach with bagel sandwiches and flavoured cream cheeses, a departure from the older Montreal bakeries’ model of selling only bagels with tiny do-it-yourself cream cheese packets; Buckley had planned expansion for years, more stores are planned, the first location was expected to open in 2020, and the bakery has a solid reputation that should give it room alongside established makers." - Tim Forster
