"Located at 724 Dublin Street in New Orleans's Riverbend neighborhood, I found Blake’s Place to be Chef Blake Cressey’s first true semi-fine-dining establishment housed in a lovingly restored New Orleans-style shotgun home that still preserves a cozy, unforgettable New Orleans house vibe. Cressey blends Creole comfort food with an Italian influence to create dishes like chicken Marsala and the Dumaine Treat — a linguine Alfredo topped with Louisiana catfish, Gulf shrimp, and “Blake’s Riverwalk sauce,” which incorporates crawfish — while also offering classics she’s known for: gumbo, New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp, crawfish cheese sauce-topped fries, and Blake’s wings. The restaurant, which grew out of her years building a social-media-driven following, is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday and for brunch Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and has been well received as a crowd-pleasing, new-school take on New Orleans comfort food." - Clair Lorell
