"Scheduled for a fall opening to give promenaders a cool refuge, this frozen lounge is being built by the team behind the Minus5° Ice Experience at Mandalay Bay and the Venetian and will occupy a prominent, easy-to-spot space near the Brooklyn Bowl. With roughly $750,000 allocated for construction, guests will pay an entrance fee to enter an environment made from genuine Canadian ice — including walls, seats, and drinking glasses — and will be loaned parkas or faux-fur coats for warmth. Professionally staged photos will be available, and the cocktail menu will feature items such as a vodka-based “Icy Mudslide,” a rum-flavored “Arctic Sunset,” and an extra-chilled Old Fashioned.
