"Sky Rocket Burger, a North Dallas burger joint that’s earned a cult following, has plans to expand to a second location in June. The restaurant announced that its forthcoming Deep Ellum outpost will open at 111 North Hall Street, in the space recently vacated by ice cream shop Wild About Harry’s, this summer. Owners Scott and Tio Wagner opened the original Sky Rocket Burger on Frankford Road in North Dallas in 2017. Amin Talebi and his partners, who have other investments in Deep Ellum including Stirr and Vidorra, approached Sky Rocket about the potential for a new location. Owning a stake in those other two establishments “has a lot to do with why we chose Deep Ellum,” Talebi tells Eater. “Also, lots of new developments are popping up there, making it look promising for the future.” For the unfamiliar, Sky Rocket Burger is a pretty simple burger-and-fries operation, with a menu that offers single, double or triple burgers that range from around $5 to around $10 depending on whether they’re topped with cheese. A three-cheese grilled cheese features Parmesan, American and cheddar. Fries, tots and cheese fries round out the offerings. Talebi’s convinced that Sky Rocket is a solid fit for Deep Ellum because it delivers a truly superior burger. “The difference in our burger when compared to competition is that we use all fresh ingredients, from the daily ground 100% Angus beef to the fresh lettuce we put on the burgers,” he says. Talebi also credited the spot’s beloved “Secret Sauce” for much of its success. Sky Rocket Burger is set to debut in Deep Ellum on June 1." - Rachel Pinn
