Houston’s New Boozy Afternoon Tea Spot Emma Jane Is Opening in Harlow District | Eater Houston
"Put your pinkies up at a new restaurant in Harlow District (Montrose) from The Kirby Group, the hospitality company behind local watering holes like Verde Garden and Bayou Heights Bier Garten; it occupies two houses with a 6,000-square-foot patio and an elegant backdrop of floral furnishings near Katami and La Griglia. For $65 per person guests can enjoy a full afternoon tea service with up to three organic teas, a glass of bubbly, and classic presentations of small plates and bites, including tiered trays of pastries made in-house, sweet and savory scones, and tea sandwiches; tea service will be offered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Beyond tea and Champagne, a selection of wine and cocktails is available, including the Culture Exchange, a twist on a traditional tequila margarita featuring pineapple, lime, and a hint of kimchi pepper, and the Panther Beach, a gin cocktail infused with Thai coconut, passionfruit, and pandan. The restaurant also serves breakfast and weekend brunch with dishes like French-style omelets, souffle pancakes, and savory buckwheat crepes, and an evening menu with items such as shepherd’s pie, pappardelle duck ragu, and eggplant a la presse; breakfast is 9–11 a.m. Tuesday–Friday, brunch 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekends, dinner 5–9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 5–10 p.m. Friday–Saturday.
