"I found a new neighborhood deli at 10505 NE Sandy Blvd that leans casual but focuses on house-smoked and cured meats from the same team behind Laurelhurst Market. Sandy-O’s occupies leftover space from Your Neighborhood Restaurant Group’s commissary kitchen and warehouse, and the shop has a country family–restaurant vibe with wood-paneled walls, a vintage Trail Blazers portrait, and an old-school Olympia Beer sign. The menu centers on sandwiches, subs, and a handful of burgers — including three smash burgers and a standout Holy Smokes Smash (a ground beef–smoked brisket patty topped with fries, pimento cheese, and barbecue sauce) — plus hot sandwiches like braised pork shoulder with pickled jalapeños and gochujang, a house-smoked pastrami with both sauerkraut and giardiniera, and a shaved roasted pork loin with romesco and roasted broccolini. Cold options include an Italian-style chopped ham, capicola, and beef salami with provolone, and the La Luna pairs roasted turkey and Laurelhurst Market bacon with apple butter and cheddar. Breakfast offerings are straightforward — a basic salad, an egg/hash brown/cheese sandwich with your choice of Laurelhurst Market bacon or a sausage patty, and a breakfast burrito with chorizo or bacon, hash browns, and scrambled egg — and early neighborhood response has been very positive, with local reviewers calling it a welcome addition to Parkrose." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
