"Originally slated for a February debut, the brand's first U.S. outpost will instead open in Chinatown’s Shanghai Plaza on Sunday, April 21 at 11 a.m. It brings a menu of hearty, endlessly refillable bowls of noodle soup and specializes in soups prepared with a braised, bone-in pork broth served in a hot-pot style. The previewed menu includes “stone bowl” soups that can be upgraded with braised beef stew, fresh shrimp, or half a chicken; “crossing the bridge” soups featuring mountain cliff mushrooms, miso, and tomato; and rice bowls that can be topped with chicken cutlets, beef, or spicy chicken. Posted hours are 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.–11 p.m. Friday–Sunday. Appetizers ($3.99–$6.99) highlighted on the menu include sliced beef and ox tongue in Szechuan chili sauce, marinated spicy beef tendon, and marinated wood-ear mushroom." - Bradley Martin
