"I visited Coneheads, which opened over the weekend in East Nashville, and found saucy fried chicken served in crisp waffle cones (also available in basket form), with a vegetarian option of cones filled with crispy cauliflower. The crowning sauces — referred to as “drips” — range from chipotle ranch to rosemary agave and white BBQ, and cones can be finished with a “cap” of pineapple coleslaw, macaroni, or grits; sides include fries, pineapple coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, grits, and fried cauliflower. Outside, the entryway is plastered with a faux grass walkway and offers patio seating, while inside the walls are covered with art by Nashville-based artist Eric ‘Mobe’ Bass that represents the youthfulness and history of owner Marcus Buggs’ experience in the football and restaurant world. Buggs says Coneheads is a concept created by himself and his wife Jen, born out of growing up in a restaurant setting and their love for food and entertaining. Coneheads is located at 1315 Dickerson Pike and will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m." - Delia Jo Ramsey
