Pencil Factory, a Greenpoint Dive Bar of 25 Years, Is Closing | Eater NY

"A planned Detroit-style pizzeria from brothers Max and Spencer Nelson and friend Jordan Dubey (who together own the Bushwick dive bar 101 Wilson). While the team acknowledges other players like Ace’s doing Detroit-style pizza in the city, they felt Bushwick deserved a taste. Dan Grossman, a L’Industrie and Roberta’s alum who also just opened Confidant in Industry City, consulted on their dough recipe. Chef and partner John Dewine, whose résumé includes Carbone, Dirty French, Nobu, and Indian Accent, will lead the kitchen. The project is targeting a May debut at 1540 Dekalb Avenue (at Irving Avenue)." - Emma Orlow
