"Part of a rapidly expanding, fast-casual Mediterranean concept spun off from DC’s Cava Mezze by Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos, and Executive Chef Dimitri Moshovitis, Cava Grill’s first San Diego outpost will open this summer in Encinitas Town Center at 1042 N El Camino Real. The 2,684-square-foot, 52-seat eatery will serve a scratch-made, customizable menu of buildable salads, pitas, rice and lentil bowls topped with items ranging from jalepeno-infused feta mousse to spicy lamb meatballs and cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh, along with seasonal soups and juices; the brand also sells small-batch dips and spreads at Whole Foods and other specialty stores. It will operate daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is part of the chain’s planned growth to more than 70 locations across 10 states." - Candice Woo
