One Fifth Brings Back Epic, Four-Foot ‘Baller Boards’ For One Night Only - Eater Houston
"To celebrate the first birthday of One Fifth, Chef Chris Shepherd is bringing back the restaurant’s most iconic dish: the Baller Board. Now that One Fifth is fully into its second theme, Romance Languages, the restaurant will bring back Steak for one night only later this month. In addition to classic dishes like the uni panna cotta and Airman salad served tableside, Shepherd will also bring back his most indulgent offering yet. As One Fifth diners might remember, the Baller Board is a four-foot long platter packed with a smattering of the steakhouse’s best offerings. It serves four diners and runs about $100 per person. Dishes like duck heart Bolognese, pasta carbonara, and chicken roulade could wind up on the board, along with a few “off-menu” surprises dreamed up by Shepherd and his team. One Fifth’s first anniversary party is going down on January 29 with a specialty menu of delectable dishes alongside the Baller Board, including offerings like roasted oysters with chile butter and pork cracklings for the first course; charred octopus for course two; and offerings like sea bass or ribeye for the entree, followed by dessert options like the croquembouche, a tower of cream puffs topped with spun sugar." - Alaena Hostetter
