"Moving into the large St-Laurent space this spring, the Quebec-only, Sainte-Foy-born chain Shaker will be the brand's 13th location and its first in Montreal; while it operates for lunch and dinner, the emphasis is on evenings with a lengthy cocktail list that includes six sangrias (all available by the pitcher) plus 24 other house cocktails that skew sweet and fruity and are served in pretty large mason jars. The menu reads as slightly upscaled bar food—burgers and tartares are two of the main pegs—alongside fried, snacky items like lobster pogos and some unexpected choices such as General Tao chicken and spaghetti bolognese, and the concept brings a somewhat clubby approach that promises a much different atmosphere than the site's Italian supper-club predecessor." - Tim Forster
