"I found that 7-Eleven’s U.S. arm is working with its Japanese and international counterparts to bring konbini-style items stateside — promising chicken teriyaki rice balls, miso ramen, sweet chile crisp wings, Mangonada donuts with Tajin, barbecue pork sliders, and chicken curry bowls — as part of a stated shift toward fresher foods and eventual seasonal rotations modeled on Japan. I’ve seen TikTok sightings from Orange County showing a milk bread egg salad sandwich at U.S. stores priced at $5.99, made with mayonnaise and Dijon and served on milk bread with the crust left on (unlike the Japanese version, whose crust is neatly trimmed); previously 7‑Eleven sold an egg salad version on white bread and its online catalog hasn’t been updated yet. I also noted the obvious skepticism after an earlier Bay Area hoax claiming San Francisco 7‑Elevens were selling Mayor London Breed–branded onigiri, a rumor that was later dispelled." - Rebecca Roland
