"I raced over to it as soon as it opened late last month; it had a cool black facade, lots of yellow neon signage, and a window that dispensed platters and sandwiches with no indoor seating. I was disappointed to find only chicken and beef — the clerk told me, “Americans don’t like lamb.” I ordered one sandwich of each and ate them in Stuyvesant Park: they were built on good bread (something like a stiff focaccia) with generous fillings and zippy sauces, but the beef was like cardboard and the chicken only marginally better — flavorless and clumpy." - Robert Sietsema
