They Say Restaurant Opens New Harper Woods Location With Live Jazz | Eater Detroit

"Opening today in Harper Woods, the Detroit jazz restaurant favorite They Say is debuting a new standalone location in the former Applebee’s building at 17810 Vernier Rd., near the Eastland Mall. It’s the second They Say outpost for owner Terry Payne, Sr.; the original opened in 2006 on Joseph Campau in the Rivertown Warehouse District. The new venue seats about 200 and will serve They Say mainstays such as chicken wings and ribs alongside newer choices from chef Gerald Gregory, including beef short ribs, Italian subs, and a seafood trio. Customers can expect live jazz Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a $5 cover; as part of the opening celebration the restaurant is waiving the cover charge Wednesday, May 1 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for a Sound Proof Jazz performance and again from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3." - Brenna Houck
