"Sidecar Doughnuts, a popular bakery from Orange County, will set up shop at The Crack Shack Encinitas on Sunday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will serve a new doughnut flavor designed by celebrity chef Richard Blais, modeled after a banana split. The doughnut features a banana chocolate chip cake topped with strawberry-banana glaze, chocolate sauce, salted and roasted peanuts, and a dried strawberry. A portion of the proceeds will go to Traveling Stories, which provides literacy resources and money management skills to kids. The bakery is also opening a location at Del Mar Highlands and will park its doughnut truck in front of its future storefront every Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m." - Candice Woo
