"After selling birria tacos at Williamsburg Smorgasburg starting last April, the owners opened a permanent restaurant in Union City, New Jersey in March; co-owner and chef Kim Martin-Flammia, who is Mexican American, learned the dish in western Mexico while her husband Patrick brought experience from managing restaurants in LA, and although the Union City spot at 1706 Summit Avenue (between 17th and 18th Streets) is currently closed for dine-in it offers pickup and delivery, has seen a recent surge in takeout customers, and people have been eating the birria tacos at tables set up outside." - Tanay Warerkar
