"The Michigan Liquor Control Commission suspended the establishment’s liquor licenses after investigators determined it hosted an indoor wedding reception in violation of state COVID-19 orders. During the fact-finding visit, staff found a seating chart listing 62 guests, about 40 people inside the ballroom, roughly five cars in the front lot and 30 in the rear, guests seated and mingling and standing at the bar, plates of food on tables indicative of food service, and patrons not wearing masks or socially distanced despite tables appearing spaced; bar staff were observed wearing masks. The owner, Joe Vicari, had recently drawn attention for urging restaurateurs to oppose extended indoor dining bans but later softened his statements. Operators are scheduled to appear before an administrative law judge on December 18." - Brenna Houck
