"Downtown Davidson is as quaint as towns come, and its local Mexican restaurant, Mestizo, is a welcome addition to the locally operated spots along main street. It’s nothing glamorous, but it is warm and spirited with marigold walls, colorful art, and TVs broadcasting games. The owners, The Olea family from Mexico City, have brought hearty portions of chilaquiles, enchiladas, and tres leches to the tiny college town. There’s a slew of agave spirits and cocktails, but the classic house margarita, the Mestizo Margarita, is a go-to." - Kayleigh Ruller
