Much-Anticipated Victory Park Location of Vietnamese Favorite Mot Hai Ba Makes Its Debut - Eater Dallas

"Vietnamese hotspot Mot Hai Ba’s second location in Victory Park has officially arrived. The restaurant, at 665 High Market Street in the South Victory development, quietly opened its doors with limited reservations starting on Monday and continuing through Thursday, June 11. Reservations are available from 6-9 pm. Mot Hai Ba’s first location opened in Lakewood in 2013 with chefs Colleen O’Hare and Jeana Johnson at the helm. In 2016, it was taken over by Chef Peja Krstic. It has since become one of Dallas’s most beloved Vietnamese restaurants and has even garnered attention from celebs like Kayne West and Aziz Ansari. The new location includes a much larger dining room than its tiny older sibling and a chef’s table in the kitchen where guests can enjoy a tasting menu from Krstic. The restaurant’s seasonal menu currently includes dishes like har gow, steamed clear dumplings filled with Texas corn and chicken sausage, along with shallot chili oil and sour green tomato; braised ox tail with chewy noodles, pickled carrots, and black truffles; and a creamy coconut-lemongrass panna cotta with raspberry sorbet. Recently, Mot Bai Ha was the recipient of a grant for promising independent restaurants that allowed it to rehire staff and provide meals to local non-profits in the midst of the coronavirus shutdown. Krstic told Eater last month that the Power of 10 Initiative made it possible for him to rehire employees who’d been furloughed in the midst of training for the new restaurant to open." - Brittanie Shey
