"Opened in 1986 and tucked between a bakery and a travel agency on busy Washington Boulevard, this sandwich shop offers a robust menu of panini and composed plates highlighting a variety of Middle Eastern dishes, from garlic chicken to falafel and sujuk. The tongue sandwich is a specialty, arriving neatly sliced in half and wrapped in parchment paper. Tenderized tongue, tomatoes, pickles, and fresh jalapeño spears are carefully layered between wonderfully toasty bread, while a generous swipe of toum permeates every bite. I added in some pickled pepperoncini for extra spice and tang. — Cathy Chaplin, senior editor" - Eater Staff
