D.C.’s Newest Coffee Shop and Wine Bar Arrives in Late June | Eater DC

"I learned that first-time restaurateur Elisa Bennaton plans to open a combination coffee shop and wine bar in late June at 601 New Jersey Avenue. The all-day drinking spot first popped up on Eater’s radar last summer, and Bennaton says the neighborhood gathering place should be serving gourmet coffee and select wines within the coming month. She declined to share specifics about the opening menu or her culinary team, but volunteered that customers should expect “internationally inspired baked goods, fancy toasts, small plates, and sharing platters.” Bennaton has started an online fundraising campaign to cover wish-list items including an outdoor patio, though she noted the Ministry will open regardless of the crowdfunding outcome, and she’s already hiring to assemble a team that “will set us apart from other coffee/wine locations.”" - Warren Rojas
