"Tucked between the concierge desk and Bar Peters at the Loews Hotel on Poydras Street, I discovered a retrofitted steamer trunk serving as the Bellhop Bar, a nightly 5 to 7 p.m. pop-up that rings a bell to announce its opening and offers crafty, batch-made cocktails plus a couple of wine options. The two cocktails are an Old Fashioned called the Old Fashioned Streetcar Named Desire (Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Demerara, Regan’s, Angostura, and Peychaud’s bitters) and a martini-inspired She Lykes it Sweet (Hangar One Vodka, pomegranate liqueur Pama, cranberry, lemon juice, and Chambord). The retro bar will be in New Orleans for the coming months and is also visiting hotels in Atlanta and Nashville with different drinks on offer." - Tim Forster
