"Debuting in August 2024 at 765 Center Boulevard in Fairfax, the new brewery will take over the former Hen House and Iron Springs space and aims to be family- and dog-friendly with a refreshed room that includes a game room with Skeeball, live music, and daily lunch and dinner service. Larry Berlin returns as brewmaster to the Center Boulevard site he helped design 30 years ago, and partners Alex and Lisa Stricker (of State Room Brewery and Flatiron) join the project; Chef Dan McGarry, a local who worked at Duke’s and Guy Fieri Signature Restaurants, will focus on gastropub fare using local ingredients. The food menu will include classics like fish and chips, chicken wings, meatballs, and the Lights Out burger carried over from State Room/Flatiron, alongside more eccentric offerings such as yellowfin tuna tacos, pork lumpia, a Korean fried chicken sandwich, and a Thai noodle sandwich, plus vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options and a children’s bento box (choice of butter pasta, chicken tenders, or a hot dog, with carrots, fries, an apple, and a cookie). Beer production will feature IPAs and lagers, a porter or stout, resurrection of past beers like Ross Valley’s Repack Red amber ale, and rotating collabs and specials (saisons, sours, fruited beers, pale ales); the spot will also offer wine and Champagne and nonalcoholic housemade options such as root beer, orange cream soda, and cold brew." - Dianne de Guzman
