"Planned as a shared kitchen incubator in the Cully neighborhood, I learned Community Supported Kitchen (CSK) was meant to open at the closed Delphina’s Bakery address alongside Maya Lovelace’s new restaurant as an affordable launchpad for small local food entrepreneurs to incubate, make, and connect with neighborhood bounty. Givens described the vision as supporting homesteaders raising goats and chickens and honey producers and connecting chefs and artisans with local products, but repeated city permit delays pushed the launch back to December—“and that’s just a maybe”—which caused many prospective tenants to leave. Because she can’t open and operate CSK in the red, Givens and her partner Dillon Debauche have been scouting other locations and alternative options. CSK raised $53,498 on Kickstarter; Givens says she spent roughly half on architect costs, non‑refundable deposits, Kickstarter fees, and some used kitchen equipment, leaving funds to invest in whatever comes next, and she remains committed to making the idea happen." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
