"A neighborhood bar taking over a former restaurant and bar space in Highland is slated to open at 704 West St. Johns Avenue, most likely on Monday, March 18. The concept is firmly music- and vinyl-focused, evoking a mastering studio with a record player, Danish speakers and a library of roughly 300 albums; the team also plans record raffles that let patrons buy the records being played. Drinks are described as approachable, with two drafts, a tapped cocktail and six to eight canned beers (including Lone Star and local breweries). The food menu is short and casual—meaty chili and vegan chili plus chips, salsa and queso. Ownership and leadership include local bar operator Will Tanner, punk co-founder John Doe, musician Mike Therieau, and general manager Tate Mayeux." - Nadia Chaudhury
