"At the Addison & Clark complex near Wrigley Field, I saw the Chipotle at 1027 W. Addison Street open on Wednesday with an outside walk-up window dedicated to online orders — the first Chicago location in the chain’s test of three new restaurant designs meant to grow digital sales and speed up customer visits. The Wrigleyville spot is an example of Chipotle’s new urban design; the company will also retrofit existing restaurants and build different designs for less-dense sites that include a drive-thru “Chipotlane” where customers order via the smartphone app or a PC instead of traditional menu-board speakers. Chipotle hopes to have 150–165 Chipotlanes by next year, and digital sales have surged (up about 87.9% in the latest quarter), now accounting for roughly one-fifth of overall sales; the chain currently has 35 restaurants in Chicago." - Ashok Selvam
