"An upcoming modern speakeasy in Henderson plans to launch an upscale 1920s-themed experience at Lake Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. It will occupy a two-story, 6,440-square-foot space formerly home to local eateries and a tavern, and is overseen by Joseph Serrano, the general manager of a nearby Montelago Village pub. The operators, who also run other Village restaurants, hope to assume a legacy gaming license for 15 machines, add an upstairs cigar lounge, two outdoor patios and a dedicated bar, and offer a “classic” food-and-beverage program. Tentative hours are 11 a.m.–midnight daily with 2 a.m. closing on Fridays and Saturdays, and there is even speculation about a private room that might require a secret word or phrase for entry." - Bradley Martin
