"Opened this week as a second location in Memorial City, the Pit Room brings its Central Texas–style barbecue to a much larger, rustic-casual space: a 6,300-square-foot interior with seating for just over 100 at high-top and traditional tables, plus a 2,610-square-foot covered patio and picnic tables that can host about 128 more guests. Fans will find familiar plates such as Czech-style beef, charro beans, elote, brisket, beef ribs, pork ribs, chicken, turkey, and plenty of sides, alongside new features including a homemade ice cream station with cookie and topping options, a retail meat market stocked with newly launched bottles of the Pit Room’s signature sauces and packaged sausage and brisket, and a planned Southern-style rollout with items like brisket egg rolls, fried pickles, and chicken tenders. The design mirrors the original Richmond location, highlighted by two 26-foot-long bars with concrete countertops and natural Baywood honeycomb mosaic, and 27 flat-screen TVs; the bar program will be led by industry veteran Sarah Crowl showcasing signature and classic cocktails, wine, and beer. Management described joining the Memorial City community as an exciting next step in expanding the Pit Room’s offerings and continuing its legacy of delicious barbecue and memorable experiences, and the outpost is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m." - Kayla Stewart
