Pinky’s Rooftop Cocktail Bar and Restaurant Opens in Downtown Royal Oak - Eater Detroit

"A new, rose-colored cocktail bar Pinky’s opened over the weekend in downtown Royal Oak. The bar and restaurant is situated in the former Red Fox Rooftop space above sister restaurant Diamonds Steak & Seafood at 100 S. Main Street. Pinky’s gets its name from a former Detroit restaurant and speakeasy called Pinky’s Boulevard Club that was once located near Belle Isle, per a release. The 4,336-square-foot space seats 83 people with 44 seats outside and a 27-seat, year-round patio dining area. The new drinking spot was renovated with help from Ron Rea of Ron and Roman architecture and features an extremely pink, garden-themed look. Pinky’s menu, developed by owner Adam Merkel and culinary director Craig Myrand, includes options like black truffle ramen, short rib wonton tacos, and ricotta gnocchi. For dessert, there’s an Instagram baiting statue featuring a 3-foot-tall pink cotton candy wig called the Beauty School Dropout. Novelty drinks are also showcased on the cocktail menu where customers can order a $14 Pinky’s ice pop — a glass of sparkling wine garnished with a boozy popsicle.
