"I learned that Southern California-based poke shop Pokeworks is heading to Philly with not one but six locations planned; the first will open this summer at 1037 Chestnut Street in what’s quickly becoming a go-to neighborhood for popular chains, with Federal Donuts and District Taco going into the East Market development and Luke’s Lobster, Honeygrow, and Shake Shack (not yet open) just down the street. The other five Philly locations haven’t been confirmed yet, but all six are part of the same franchise deal. Pokeworks follows the usual mainland poke concept: cubed raw fish served in build-your-own rice bowls and salads, and the fast-casual shop also sells poke burritos. The chain is only a few years old, with about 20 locations open across the country and roughly 100 more in the works." - Rachel Vigoda
