"Though Le Kon opened in September, it already feels newly reshaped after owner Milvia Landaverde split with Top Chef alum Katsuji Tanabe, and I miss dishes like chorizo and vanilla Brussels sprouts, soy sweet potatoes and charred corn salad; that said, I’m a fan of the safer Tex‑Mex standards now overseen by young chef Walter Elias — the chorizo is kicky, sliced and split open to collect char marks, the beans are smokier than they need to be, and even the taquitos are fun here: hand‑rolled, stuffed with carnitas, with frayed, crispy bits that are the best part." - Gabe Hiatt
