"I learned that Oasis Brazilian Steakhouse, which opened in 1989 as Medford’s Brazilian population was growing, became a homesick favorite for its delicious, affordable fare—especially the fatty, rich picanha cut of steak, feijoada (a bean stew with beef and pork), and freshly baked pão de queijo that would sell out within minutes of coming out of the oven. Owner Luiz Santos says the restaurant is now seeing new faces every day after the Ball Square Green Line stop opened about a 12-minute walk away, and even in typically slow January they recorded a 7 to 8 percent increase in sales because of the added traffic." - Valerie Li Stack
