Acclaimed Brooklyn Burmese Restaurant Rangoon Is Headed to Chelsea | Eater NY

"Critically acclaimed Crown Heights Burmese restaurant Rangoon, from chef Myo Moe and co-owner Daniel Bendjy, is expanding into Manhattan: I learned they signed a lease on a Chelsea spot at 158 Eighth Avenue at the corner of West 18th Street after a successful crowdfunding start, and they’re also aiming to open another Burmese restaurant (not called Rangoon) either late this year or in early 2022. Moe is keeping much of the menu under wraps, but I was told the food at the new Chelsea location will likely depart from the subtle curries and noodles that first put Rangoon on the map as she plans to explore more regional Burmese fare enabled by a much larger kitchen; early design plans include dividing the restaurant into five distinct dining areas, with three indoor areas and two in an outdoor backyard." - Erika Adams
