"After a four-year run on Randolph Restaurant Row, Salero—the West Loop Spanish restaurant at 621 W. Randolph Street—will close on New Year’s Eve, according to the Tribune, because its owner failed to reach a lease extension with the landlord. Chef Ashlee Aubin said he has no plans lined up after the restaurant closes. Salero briefly shut after a September fire but business had recovered, and I’m adding it to the list of West Loop restaurants closing due to new development and rising rents; there’s no word yet on plans for the space." - Ashok Selvam
