"A 10-year-old, Michelin-starred South Loop restaurant that has remained closed since the summer amid public allegations of a toxic work environment and ongoing litigation. The establishment is central to a dispute in which a former employee sought an emergency no-contact order after receiving harassing anonymous emails and the launch of a website that smeared him with false accusations; domain records and testimony from GoDaddy tied that website’s registration to a person who previously worked for the chef, though that person denies registering the site or using the credit card linked to the domain. The chef and owner denies all wrongdoing and has filed a counterclaim accusing the former employee of on-the-job alcohol abuse, while former staffers have used Instagram to share accounts of mistreatment. Lawyers for the accuser have issued subpoenas to digital companies (including Yelp, GoDaddy, Microsoft and Visa) to try to trace the website and email origins, and the case remains active with a next court date scheduled for March 10." - Ashok Selvam
