"Set to open mid-March in an expansive 1830s building at 139 St-Paul Ouest, I see Wolf & Workman as an English gastro-pub from the Burgundy Lion group (co-owned by Chef Louis-Philippe, James Hung and Sean-Michael McCaffrey) that will focus on high-end pub cuisine inspired by London's best taverns. Camerlain has tentatively assembled a menu of modern takes on classic English meat dishes—Oxtail Cottage Pie, Beef Tartare and Jalfrezi chicken—alongside traditional pub snacks like New England Chowder Fries and a Wolf & Workman burger; the kitchen will also run three or four daily specials and update the menu seasonally to showcase local ingredients. The drink list will be heavy in spirits and lean on locally sourced products with occasional British imports so the bar can showcase Quebec beers, spirits and producers to both locals and out-of-towners. The vast space seats close to 150 indoors with room for about 55 more in an interior courtyard garden in warmer months, and within a month of opening the pub will offer family-style dining for groups of six or more featuring roast beef, full roasted piglets and sides." - Audrey Carleton
